Pets with  Salmonella  infections may have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal discomfort. They can present with symptoms of diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Pets can be healthy and infected with Salmonella which allows them to  be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your dog or cat has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact our animal hospital so that we can consult with your veterinarian.

Individuals handling dry pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with surfaces exposed to this product. If you believe that you may have been exposed to Salmonella you should monitor yourself for signs of : nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. If you experience any of these symptoms please contact your family physician or nearest human medical care provider.

If we can be of any assistance please give our animal hospital a call at 905-735-7877.  The staff and veterinarians at the Main West Animal Hospital are here to answer your questions and provide solutions for your family if you are unfortunately affected by this recall.
