At Main West Animal Hospital, we offer the most advanced diagnostic services available to help manage the ongoing health of our patients. Whether it’s a simple blood test or advanced x-ray imaging, we’re prepared to get to the bottom of whatever is ailing your pet so that we can address the problem as quickly and effectively as possible.
Our state of the art diagnostic equipment includes:
- Digital tonometer, which checks the eyes for excess pressure
- Electrocardiogram, with the ability to transmit and consult with a cardiologist
- Doppler-blood pressure monitor
- Glucometer, which measures blood glucose levels
- Video Otoscope
- In-House Laboratory
We are also proud to offer digital radiography, a form of x-ray imaging that uses digital sensors rather than traditional photographic film. This advanced diagnostic method offers improved visual quality, enlargement capabilities, and time-saving efficiency since the results can be instantly evaluated and easily sent to specialists via email. In addition, the subsequent elimination of chemical developing is much better for the environment, something we are very passionate about at Main West.
Our in-house laboratory allows us to conduct a variety of important tests such as blood chemistries, urinalysis, cytology, parasitology and CBC’s, quickly and efficiently. The lab is fully equipped with a vetlab station, laser cyte and catalyst Dx. This allows us to work with speed and precision so that diagnoses can be made quickly and treatment can be determined in a timely manner. This is especially important for illnesses or injuries for which a timely and accurate diagnosis is critical.
Just as with humans, animals can suffer from a number of health conditions that can’t be seen on the outside of the body. Main West Animal Hospital’s comprehensive diagnostic services allow us go beneath the surface to diagnose and manage both minor and major health problems. The sooner we can identify and address what is ailing your pet, the sooner we can get them back on the path to good health again.
